We hope you’ll enjoy our posts – please give us your feedback and any questions you have about Medical Aesthetics of New England and the treatments we offer!
One of the questions we get asked about most is our logo: so why the dragonfly? For obvious reasons, the butterfly is a common (and overused) symbol for practices that deal with rejuvenation treatments, but we feel the dragonfly is perfect for all the special services that Medical Aesthetics offers.
The dragonfly is one of the oldest insects on earth, but no matter how many myths and magic surround it, it is always seen as an agent of change and growth, especially in terms of self-realization. This actually makes a lot of sense: while young dragonflies usually spend a short time in the water as nymphs, some species have a growth process that takes years to complete.
The Japanese samurai used it as a symbol of strength and victory in battle. In China, the dragonfly is associated with prosperity, harmony and good luck. Among Native Americans, it is a sign of happiness, speed and purity, since it is believed that the dragonfly eats from the wind itself.
For some, the dragonfly symbolizes the emotion and passion that comes in early life, and the mental and emotional balance that comes (well, hopefully) with maturity. What we hope to encourage in all our clients is the feeling of beauty and grace that the dragonfly displays so effortlessly, and the satisfaction and confidence that results!
